Grid, compact grid, calendar, and Instagram preview
The main dashboard offers grid layouts, a calendar, and an Instagram-style preview (the camera-looking icon). Green status badges mean Approved; yellow means Pending; blue means Posted. Color alone is not proof of the current state of a particular post: ask for its label when unsure.
The main grid, compact grid, and calendar default to 3:4 image frames. Settings → Appearance → Planner preview shape can switch them together to 4:5 or 1:1; calendar cells also change height. They fit the entire saved photo crop inside those frames, using a blurred copy behind it when the ratios differ. The setting does not change saved crops or publishing output. Instagram preview retains its own centered, filled 3:4 profile-grid thumbnail, which may clip the sides or top and bottom as Instagram's grid would.
Video previews start muted. Use the speaker button in the bottom-right corner of a video preview to turn sound on or mute all schedule previews on that page. The choice carries across previews and schedule layouts until you leave or reload the page. Only one preview plays at a time. Photos and compact-grid thumbnails do not have this control. On posted cards, the platform chip keeps clear of engagement and sound controls. Extra platforms collapse into a +N count when space is tight; the complete platform list remains in the chip’s accessible label and desktop hover title. Large comment totals are shortened like likes, with the exact count still available in the link’s accessible label and hover title. Exceptionally narrow cards can place platforms above engagement to keep controls clear. The button changes preview sound without opening the post or changing its saved media or publishing settings. If the browser refuses audible autoplay, the preview returns to muted playback; tap the speaker to enable sound again.
In the regular and compact grids, press Sort in the action row to toggle display order directly; there is no sort menu. The sort control has the accessible label Show newest first or Show oldest first. Filter, Sort, Select, Sync, and Mix keep their visible names at every size. When the controls cannot fit beside the heading, they move onto their own horizontally scrollable row above the Pending or Scheduled section selector. Add post moves to the far left of that row. Soft edge fades indicate more controls offscreen; swipe horizontally to reach them. The status-filter row also scrolls, with a subdued scrollbar that appears while scrolling. The platform filter labels X as X. Sorting is a display-order preference saved for that profile in that browser; it does not change a post's schedule, publishing order, or manually arranged Pending-review order.
Instagram preview opens in Pending, showing Pending review. Its status filters are Pending, Approved, and Posted; Needs Attention appears when Instagram posts need publishing attention. All, Rejected, and Trash are absent from Instagram preview. Rejected and Trash remain available in the regular planner views. The upcoming total is informational. Choose Approved to see Scheduled posts, and use its section selector to check Unscheduled approved posts without a time. Status filters and planning sections are separate controls. The regular and compact planners shorten that section heading to Pending only on mobile. Empty planning sections are hidden. Unscheduled posts do not appear on the calendar. Pending-review items can be rearranged in supported grid layouts. Scheduled in Instagram preview shows the future profile grid: later scheduled posts first, with the next-to-publish post farther down. Dragging rearranges the future layout while saving the corresponding publishing order. Locked custom times stay fixed. The existing published-post anchor follows the scheduled posts once all are loaded; it is hidden when the profile has multiple Instagram accounts. Pending review and Unscheduled also show the future grid in reverse queue order, with the last queued post at the top. Dragging saves the corresponding publishing order. Their eventual dates remain provisional until scheduled. Instagram preview is a planning layout, not proof of what is live on Instagram. Changing a view does not publish posts. If drag ordering does not persist, record the layout, selected profile and filters in a support report.
For a user already in a regular or compact grid filtered to Pending, explain reordering in that grid. Switching to Instagram preview is not a prerequisite for grid reordering.
In Trash, Restore returns a post to the dashboard. Delete on a post and Delete all permanently remove the selected trashed content after confirmation; review the confirmation carefully before proceeding.
In the main grid, open the platform chip to choose publishing accounts. Each toggle updates immediately and saves automatically, like the detail editor; there is no Cancel or Save button for platform selection. Use the centered Close button at the bottom, or click the platform chip again, to close the editor. Applicable publishing controls include Video / Carousel, Instagram Publish as Trial Reel and Share to profile feed, and, for the owner’s private TikTok testing, Finish in TikTok / Auto publish. These settings save automatically. Reel is a video format across selected accounts, with Instagram-specific options labeled separately. Video is incompatible with Reddit. Previously selected incompatible accounts stay visible and removable; unselected incompatible accounts cannot be added. Choose Carousel or remove Reddit before approving. Rapid changes remain clickable while previous requests finish and save in order. If the newest save fails, ShootFeed restores the last confirmed selection and shows an error; try the toggle again after resolving the issue. Keep at least one publishing account selected. Mention, caption, and subreddit editors retain their separate save controls.
Changing an inline caption, title, or mention in the main grid and then leaving the page or changing views or filters opens the same Unsaved changes dialog as the detail editor. The user can save and leave, discard the draft and leave, or stay and continue editing. Publishing-account toggles save automatically and are not treated as unsaved drafts.
TikTok controls and platform choices are hidden from beta users and the public until approval; private TikTok setup and publishing remain available only to the ShootFeed owner. Do not suggest those owner-only controls to ordinary users.
A clean calendar swap between two approved Master posts keeps both following Master and exchanges their queue order with their slots. They remain draggable in Instagram preview. Calendar moves to a chosen date and swaps involving custom targets retain custom-date behavior.
On mobile, the schedule view toggle supports tapping an icon or sliding the highlight across its track. Release to select the nearest view; vertical swipes still scroll the page.
In Post calendar, use Week / Month beside the title to choose a layout. Week is the default until you choose a view; your last choice is remembered in this browser when you return. Month shows all seven weekdays in a grid, including on mobile. Week stacks Sunday through Saturday vertically, with all posts for each day side by side; scroll a day horizontally when needed. The arrow buttons move by one month or one week, and Today returns to the current period. In Week, Today is muted and inactive when the current week is already visible. Both layouts use the same preview shape and schedule editor. Calendar previews omit platform chips on every screen size and center the publishing time at the bottom.
On touch devices, including iPad and devices with a trackpad attached, enable Reorder before dragging. The control is available in card, compact grid, calendar, and Instagram preview at every touch screen size. In Week, the center of a post is the Swap target. Drop at its left edge or just before it to place the moving post before that post, or at its right edge or just after it to place it after. Only an insertion bar appears outside the preview. The original clock time is kept on the destination date when it already falls on the chosen side and is still in the future. Otherwise, the time defaults to one hour before or after the neighboring post. For example, an 11 am post placed before a 3 pm post keeps 11 am; placed after it, it becomes 4 pm.
The first post also has a left-edge placement area. Hovering the center shows a large Swap label in a padded blue card with blur behind it; the side placement areas remain available. These placements create a custom time that can be changed with the time chip. When needed, the offset is one elapsed hour, so it can cross midnight or a daylight-saving change. An occupied time is rejected rather than silently shifted. Past or already-publishing posts cannot be moved. Swapping two eligible Master posts preserves Master; other swaps use custom schedules.
Mix spreads repeated people, shoots, colors, and settings across eligible scheduled posts while keeping the publishing slots in place. It needs at least two eligible posts and is unavailable with restricting filters. The confirmation toast offers Undo to restore the previous queue order. Check the result before assuming an Undo request succeeded.
In calendar Reorder mode, drag the post itself; there is no separate drag handle. In Month, dropping over another post offers Add to place it on that day or Swap to exchange their slots.
Month Add keeps the moving post's clock time when that time is free, even if other posts exist on the destination date. Only a matching time triggers the one-hour-later rule; if that next hour is also occupied, Add finds the next free hourly opening. For example, an 11 am post moved to a day with a 3 pm post stays at 11 am. If that day already has an 11 am post, Add places it at noon when noon is free. The moving post itself never counts as an occupied slot.
Month Add/Swap choices stack vertically in narrow calendar cells. Week uses the center Swap target and the before/after edge placements described above. Touch dragging suppresses image selection and preview opening while moving a post. Turn Reorder off to browse normally.
